With over 30 million copies sold, this Indie Farming RPG’s story revolves around your inheritance of a run-down farm plot that belonged to your grandfather. As an open-ended style game, it allows for creativity and freedom in growing crops, mining, fishing, cooking, raising livestock, and foraging. This game also features villagers with whom you can interact, complete tasks, marry, and have children. 

Though this is an older game, originally released in 2016, it has undergone many updates, its most recent, was in the Spring. 

Stardew Valley’s nostalgic and colorful 8-bit style, peaceful original soundtrack, and friendly NPCs make for a cozy and relaxing time.

DAVE THE DIVER

Diver by day and sushi restaurant manager by night, Dave the Diver differs from what one would usually imagine for a farming or crafting game. However, this colorful pixel art features farming sushi ingredients and crafting sushi for customers. 

The game’s storyline follows Dave who upon meeting his friend at a sushi restaurant is tasked with catching the seafood himself. He is then given a management role at the restaurant, for which he catches ingredients during the day and operates at night. 

On top of these usual tasks, there are additional quests, places, and enhancements to complete and unlock. 

If you’re looking for a solo adventure game with cozy vibes and a funky storyline, then this is for you.

As a newly arrived farmer of the town of Sun Haven, you’re asked by the town’s guardian dragon to assist him in investigating the dark magic that had plagued their town. 

With 23 romantic candidates, full character customization, multiple towns to discover, and more, Sun Haven is a fully packed game.

Inspired by Stardew Valley, Terraria, and Zelda, Forager is an open-world indie survival game featuring, as you see above, a silly little guy. While this is another pixel art-style game, it is set apart from the rest with a quirky main character and 80s arcade-style graphics.

There is no direct storyline in the game, allowing you to explore at your own pace, build a base, collect resources, farm, solve puzzles, raid dungeons, and more. 

However, if you’re curious, the developer has released comics about the game’s plot.

With hundreds of sidequests, tons of characters, and a full storyline, My Time at Sandrock is a great balance of relaxing and engaging.
